Before you install

A mod is not sandboxed. It runs inside Claude Code with your permissions. This one:

  • can read Context breakdown and recent per-turn token counts

Check it yourself before running it: git clone https://github.com/Arunjay4213/claude-mods && claude plugin validate ./ · Not stated licensed

Install

claude plugin marketplace add Arunjay4213/claude-mods
claude plugin install context-lens@claude-mods

Then run /context-lens inside the session.

Needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or later. After installing, run /reload-plugins if the session was already open. Full install guide

What changes after installation

A pinned line shows current fill, last-turn growth and a rough estimate of how many similar turns fit before compaction. /context-lens opens category bars and explains which limit the headroom uses.

After clear or compaction, growth history restarts rather than comparing unrelated windows.

Good to know

Turns remaining is a straight-line estimate, so one large read can move it sharply. Fresh sessions need a model response before the first meaningful reading. Use the explicit refresh only when you need a measured category breakdown.
