Before you install

A mod is not sandboxed. It runs inside Claude Code with your permissions. This one:

  • can read Project files
  • can read tool calls and command results
  • can write A shadow git repository and timeline under Claude configuration

Check it yourself before running it: git clone https://github.com/YeonwooSung/my-claude-code-mods && claude plugin validate ./ · Apache-2.0 licensed

Install

claude plugin marketplace add YeonwooSung/my-claude-code-mods
claude plugin install time-machine@my-claude-code-mods

Then run /tm inside the session.

Needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or later. After installing, run /reload-plugins if the session was already open. Full install guide

What changes after installation

The mod numbers tool calls on a timeline and takes snapshots after file-changing operations. /tm shows recent steps, /tm diff compares states and /tm why offers clues about changes between passing and failing tests.

Restore, branch and rerun commands are available when you need more than inspection. Snapshots use a separate git directory rather than writing to the project’s own .git history.

Good to know

Git is required. Large repositories can make file-changing calls slower, and old records are cleaned up according to retention settings. Another plugin named Claude Time Machine uses overlapping names and commands; avoid installing both together.
