Before you install
A mod is not sandboxed. It runs inside Claude Code with your permissions. This one:
- can read Goal prompts
- can read task tool activity
- can read agent names and recent chat-log lines
- can write Goal state and task history in local files
Check it yourself before running it: git clone https://github.com/nateherkai/claude-code-mods && claude plugin validate ./ · MIT licensed
Install
claude plugin marketplace add nateherkai/claude-code-mods
claude plugin install goal-meter@nateherk-mods
Then run /goals inside the session.
Needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or later. After installing, run
/reload-plugins if the session was already open.

What changes after installation
A band shows tasks completed, weighted progress, elapsed time, current activity and an estimated finish time. The bar can move backward when the plan grows. /goals opens the current plan and recent goals from other local chats.
Strict mode can refuse file edits until a goal has a plan. A footer label remains available when the full band is hidden.
Good to know
Start a new chat after installation. Goal verdict detection reads an undocumented chat-log format and may be affected by Claude Code updates. ETAs assume remaining work proceeds at the pace already observed.
