What session-meter looks like in use

No recording yet for session-meter. The repository README has the details.

Before you install

A mod is not sandboxed. It runs inside Claude Code with your permissions. This one:

  • can read Context breakdown
  • can read account limits
  • can read commands
  • can read paths and request metadata
  • can write Recent tool and request history in plugin state

Check it yourself before running it: git clone https://github.com/arasovic/claude-code-mods && claude plugin validate ./ · MIT licensed

Install

claude plugin marketplace add arasovic/claude-code-mods
claude plugin install session-meter@claude-code-mods

Then run /ctx inside the session.

Needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or later. After installing, run /reload-plugins if the session was already open. Full install guide

What changes after installation

A pane breaks context into system prompt, tools, MCP instructions, memory, skills and messages. It also shows account-limit pace, recent tool calls and model requests with cache hit rates.

/ctx opens the pane when it does not open automatically. The largest context occupants are highlighted, making it easier to decide what to disable or compact.

Good to know

The usage pace projection needs history and should not be treated as a forecast. Threshold notes can tell Claude to mention a limit or suggest compaction, which adds a small amount of prompt text. The interface is documented for terminal sessions.
