Before you install
A mod is not sandboxed. It runs inside Claude Code with your permissions. This one:
- can read Session usage
- can read git metadata and local progress JSON files
- can write Card settings and script-supplied progress rows
Check it yourself before running it: git clone https://github.com/xuanji86/claude-statuspane && claude plugin validate ./ · MIT licensed
Install
claude plugin marketplace add xuanji86/claude-statuspane
claude plugin install statuspane@claude-statuspane
Then run /statuspane inside the session.
Needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or later. After installing, run
/reload-plugins if the session was already open.

What changes after installation
A clickable card above the prompt combines model and effort, context fill, account limits, cost, directory and git branch. It also offers a confirmed compact action and configurable progress bars fed by local scripts or other mods.
/statuspane hides or shows the card. A settings panel controls individual rows and bar widths.
Good to know
The card is terminal-only and requires enough width to draw. GitHub Actions integration is optional and needs an authenticated GitHub CLI. The star total belongs to this repository; CI and progress features should be evaluated separately from the basic local status display.
