Before you install

A mod is not sandboxed. It runs inside Claude Code with your permissions. This one:

  • can read Turn usage
  • can read model names
  • can read duration and engine-reported cost
  • can write Recent turn history in local plugin storage

Check it yourself before running it: git clone https://github.com/Arunjay4213/claude-mods && claude plugin validate ./ · Not stated licensed

Install

claude plugin marketplace add Arunjay4213/claude-mods
claude plugin install token-ledger@claude-mods

Then run /ledger inside the session.

Needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or later. After installing, run /reload-plugins if the session was already open. Full install guide

What changes after installation

The pinned line summarizes session cost, the last turn’s tokens and cache share. /ledger opens a table with per-turn input, output, cache reads, cache writes, duration and cost.

Recent history survives a resume through local plugin storage. Narrow panes drop secondary columns while retaining cost.

Good to know

Turn costs depend on having a baseline and a host that reports dollar totals. Rounded display values can differ slightly from the final engine sum. The mod does not independently send usage or prompts anywhere.
